Ugh...update...

Hope everyone has been having a wonderful week!!! I thought I'd pop in this morning and let everyone know that I am alive - LOL!! I was out of town over the weekend (my niece and I went to Louisville, KY to see the musical "Spring Awakening" - OMG - what an AMAZING AMAZING show!!!) and then I've been battling a pretty severe toothache since late last week and really haven't felt much like stamping. :( I finally made it in to see the dentist yesterday afternoon - it was one of my wisdom teeth that was hurting and the pain had gone all the way into my jaw - yikes! The tooth that was hurting had only partially erupted and had gotten infected which was what is causing all that pain. I'm on antibiotics - but my wisdom teeth have to be removed - ICK!! I only have 3 (one never formed) and 2 of them are fully in - so I don't think it's as invasive as a procedure as actually having them cut out - but I am still not looking forward to it. I am having the procedure done next Tuesday and am hoping that the antibiotic will kick in soon and I can get some relief before then. I am gonna try to get some stamping done this afternoon and hoping to be back to posting cards on here tomorrow. In the meantime - if any of you have had your wisdom teeth out and have any words of advice - that would be wonderful - foods I should stock for next week, things to avoid, etc. Have a great Wed. and I'll be back tomorrow!!!

Ugghhh, trust me, I am RIGHT there with you right now!! I let mine go for so long that I have to have oral surgery in July to remove 7 teeth. Talk about torture!! I will be interested to read anyone's advice though!!

So sorry to hear about your dental dilemma. I had my wisdom teeth out in high school and I lived on milkshakes made with Carnation Instant Breakfast (protein/vitamins) till I could finally chew again. I hope all goes well - let me know if I can help with the boys or anything.

I hope all your pain is gone very soon! I had all my wisdom teeth removed and it's not so bad. I stocked up on popsicles, ice cream and yogurt(as long as it doesn't have nuts or seeds that can get stuck under the stitches. Feel better soon!

Be brave and don't try to avoid the extraction, it'll just get infected again!! Ice cream and Popsicles are good IF the cold doesn't irritate them.most people find cold numbing. Warm, not hot cream soups, cottage cheese with canned peaches and yogurt are good. NO seeds like berries, tomatoes, sesame etc or nuts cause they can get stuck in between the stitches or in the hole and cause infections. Cold might feel soothing but avoid hot. Rince your mouth with salt water after everything you eat, before bed and in the morning or use a rinse they recommend. You should only feel yucky for a day or two if they aren't impacted/jammed in or have nasty long roots. If the procedure requires putting you out expect three to five days of feeling yucky. And don't go anywhere looks count. If you bruise easily, you could look pretty scary! At most should be gone in a week.

Mine wasn't bad at all but it was small and no long roots. Only took 5 minutes!! It was over before I realized all the freezing was in. For me it was like childbirth - no not the pain... Hearing from people what to expect! It wasn't nearly was bad as I expected bc everyone only tells you the horror stories!!

Hope all goes well
